Ingredients

  • 2 packs halloumi
  • 125g plain flour
  • 14 tsp white pepper
  • 14 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 125ml warm milk and water
  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges

Method

  1. Sieve the dry ingredients into a bowl
  2. Make a well in the centre, and add the liquid. Mix into a stiff batter
  3. Cut the halloumi into four pieces each. Triangles are clearly the best shape for this
  4. Coat the halloumi with batter, and fry, two pieces at a time

Serve with a wedge of lemon, chips and mushy peas
